Lea Gratings Description:

Visual acuity can be measured in infants or children with multiple handicaps using this appropriate gratings test, which has gratings placed on paddles to present parallel lines of decreasing width. This task is much more simple than recognizing optotypes. The striped pattern is presented in front of an infant simultaneously with a gray surface of the same size and luminescence. The infant is most likely to look at the striped pattern because there is more of a visual contact to look at rather than a gray surface.
